see how beautifully that check is written? imagine how long it took mr. valentino to do it. now imagine the old crones who stand at the supermarket registers and remove their check books after the sale has been tallied and commence to making out their check...in the same slow, methodical manner, as if they were rudolph fucking valentino and their signature meant anything.

A hunded bucks. In 1925 Valentino could have bought most of Encino for a hundred bucks. And had enough left over for some really nice socks. Thats what movie stars are really made of - money and nice socks.
