Miss Bennett at work. |
"In 20th Century Fox's "Man Hunt" Joan Bennett plays a street walker, much to the distress of the Hays gentry, who feel that the movies shouldn't recognize such unfortunate facts of life.
After long cogitation, they finally came up with a ruse to camouflage Miss Bennett's screen character. They ruled that the studio must install in her room and display prominently - a sewing machine!"

You have to wonder what they were smoking in the Hayes Office. I guess if a girl had a sewing machine, she at least was someone who had an ounce of domesticity in her.
is walter her pimp?
I think Walter was probably pedaling her Singer, if you know what i mean. If you do, let me know, because I don't.
Nice to meet a prostie who can sew her own outfits.
