i've said it before and i'll say it again,
i think she danced like a water buffalo in pumps.

While I don't disagree, at least she never marketed herself a dancer in the movies.

The one I've never understood (and speaking of water buffaloes) is Ruby Keeler.

Oops. Let me change the word "never" in my above comment to "rarely". I just remembered "Dancing Lady"!

the legend says she won a charleston contest, right? she was the crazy dancing flapper that personified youth, gaiety and motherhood.

Youth, gaiety and...pardon me?

as a talented dancer and lover of the arts kabuki feels obliged to mention that a good pair of cha cha heels was simply not available back then. god bless dance shoe technology

OK, I'll say it - she may never have been Ginger Rogers, but she went out there and she did danced, correct.

And chances are she danced a lot like the average woman from that era.

Not everyone gets to be as light on their feet as Gene Kelly, or as graceful as Cyd, Ginger or any of the other fair maids who graced the screen.
