Betty Hutton's performances always makes me think that someone is holding her family hostage and to win them back she was instructed to go to the studio and act like there is nothing wrong.
@ Norma - I love that song too. Got it years ago on a compilation CD of Capitol Records first 50 years. Followed your link and realize why I've always given Betty a pass on that one song: It's cuz I didn't have to look at her!
@ Thom - I got to meet the effervescent, irrepressible Peenee last week and gave him a tour. Thought he was delicious - that is till I read your comment!
Not a good picture whatsoever, and I agree a bit of Betty can go a long way, but there will always be "The Miracle Of Morgan's Creek," where she was simply wonderful.
I always loved Betty Hutton but this photo is creepy. The dames that spooked me were Joan Crawford and Bette Davis. I just have trouble seeing them in a film in any way. They have to have great costars for me to tolerate them. Yes, I know I am in the minority but it is the truth.

Now that IS scary - almost as terrifying as the photos from Ethel Merman's wedding to Ernest Borgnine... Jx

Haha! Of course I was being facetious---Peenee is quite disturbed by BH, as anyone would be. So glad you met!
Hell! I'll confess a fondness for her!
Try her version of I'm An Indian TOO!
more sleepness nights for kabuki, this woman will scare the sleep away for days
